Gert Haussner (born December 21, 1963 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician, composer , producer , multi-instrumentalist , director of the Klosterneuburg Chamber Choir and president of the Vienna Aviation Group in the Austrian Aero Club .

Life

Born the first of three children, he began a musical education at the age of 13 in the form of guitar and piano lessons . After graduating from high school , he turned to classical and electric guitar , as well as electric bass , saxophone and vocals . He studied musicology for a few semesters at the University of Vienna , as well as Italian and Spanish, and then moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna to complete the audio engineering course.

After completing his studies, he worked as a sound engineer, studio and live musician, arranger , producer and composer for various projects in rock , jazz and classical style. Around this time he became a member of the choir in the Vienna Art Nouveau Theater, where he participated in four successive opera productions. In 1999 he returned to the opera stage as guitarist for the production of “ The Barber of Seville ” as part of the Klosterneuburg summer opera.

Bands

In 1991 he founded the Boring Blues Band, which still exists today, with Bernhard Slavicek, Mike Maloy , Itze Grünzweig and others , where he mainly works as a saxophonist and singer. As a multi-instrumentalist he occasionally steps in as a guitarist, bassist and pianist. In addition, he worked in various bands, such as " The Madcaps ", "Horak X", "New Kids on the Drums", "Opi & the Röhrljeans", "Percy and the parasoul", "Wiener Vodoo" and began with various artists Projects. In the course of his concerts he has also performed in Italy , France , Ukraine , the Czech Republic , Spain , Germany , Mexico , Hungary , Greece , Estonia , Latvia etc.

In 1989 he became the choir director elected the Chamber Choir Klosterneuburg and led this 2001 to a silver medal of the Prague Choir Competition and CD - recordings . In 2006 the chamber choir merged with the “Ensemble Chorus” and was renamed “Chamber Chorus ”. This new ensemble under his direction makes numerous appearances, also for charitable purposes.

In 2003 Haussner had the manuscript of the anonymous baroque tablature (SM 09659) excavated from the Austrian National Library , he completed some missing parts and in 2004 he recorded these 92 pieces himself on 3 CDs as a worldwide first recording on lute , published as s'Ghertso Records, EX-ED 012

Music teacher

In addition, he also teaches plucked instruments (guitar, bass, lute, mandolin , banjo ) and band arrangements , and in this role has fostered a number of up-and-coming talents.

In 2006 he got his private pilot's license , 4 years later his aerobatics license and in 2015 his CRI (Class Rating Instructor) including an aerobatic instructor license . Haussner has been the elected President of the Fliegergruppe Wien in the Austrian Aeroclub, founded in 1952, and a member of the Austrian Aviation Museum .
