The Mooney Suzuki are an American rock 'n' roll band founded in New York in 1996 .
So far the band has released four albums. Their sound can be described as a mixture of glam rock and garage rock , based on the Hanoi Rocks . The band members themselves describe their style as being inspired by the Stooges , MC5 , The Who , the Rolling Stones and the Kinks .
General
The name of the band is made up of the names of the first two singers of the 70s -Jahre- Krautrock band Can , Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki , together.
The band was featured on the Madden 2005 and Burnout 3 soundtracks with their tracks "Alive And Amplified" and "Shake That Bush Again" . Automaker Suzuki used an edited version of "Alive And Amplified" as background music for one of its television commercials.
It is also worth mentioning that the "Mooneys" - as the fans call them - composed the title track for the film School of Rock , which was played and recorded by Jack Black and the Kids .
SAP used the song "Do it" for its advertising campaign "Achieve more" (USA: "Run Better").
