The Otolith Group

The Otolith Group was founded in London in 2002 by Anjalika Sagar (* 1968 in London) and Kodwo Eshun (* 1967 in London).

Anjalika Sagar became the 1997 Bachelor in Social Anthropology and Hindi at the University of London and the 2004 Master of Fine Arts at Middlesex University . Kodwo Eshun studied English-language literature . He received his bachelor's degree from University College in 1988 and his master's degree in 1990 in literary theory from the University of Southampton .

The Otolith Group realizes essayistic films, installations and performances , acts as exhibition curator , publishes publications, develops programs and promotes the work of other artists. “The aim of the Otolith Group is to create a public discussion platform about contemporary art through its artistic work and to generate a critical research space between theory, practice and exhibition”.

The Otolith Group was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2010 . Her work was exhibited in 2011 in the Bétonsalon , Paris, in 2011–12 in the MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo , Rome and in 2012 in Project 88 in Mumbai. The artist group took part in numerous group exhibitions, including Manifesta 9 and dOCUMENTA (13) . In 2020 the film work INFINITY minus Infinity was exhibited at the Forum Expanded exhibition of the Berlinale .
