The Ploctones are a Dutch quartet that play experimental jazz rock and are considered "one of the most exciting live acts in Dutch jazz" ( de Volkskrant ). Initially, the group appeared under the names of the four band members as Goudsmit, Trujillo, Vierdag & Vink . Since performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2007 , the band has been trading as The Ploctones .

On the occasion of their album 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... the magazine Jazzthing judged : "Ploctones sounds like the nice dance band next door or the up-and-coming school combo, but it's a rather weird contribution from Holland to jazz rock." as is often the case in fusion music, there would be no “predictable musical processes, tidy melodies or binding themes”. Often the band, which belongs to the “anarcho faction” of the genre, “only needs a few licks or chords on the guitar or a few strung together notes of the saxophone” to find the basic framework for the interaction.
