The Pokémon Company ( Japanese 株式会社 ポ ケ モ ン , Kabushiki-gaisha Pokemon ) is a subsidiary of Nintendo and was founded as a brand and license name for the successful Pokémon franchise. The video game series, trading card game and licensed merchandising items are produced by so-called second and third party manufacturers such as Game Freak .
The company first appeared in 1998 with the establishment of a Pokémon center in Tokyo before the Pokémon, Ltd. brand. was founded in 2000. Since then, Nintendo has marketed all Pokémon items under the name The Pokémon Company. As of 2001, the copyright information for almost all licensed Pokémon products, in addition to © Nintendo , © Creatures, Inc. and © GAME FREAK inc. also © Pokémon. called.
