The Private Gladiator is a European pornographic film and the first part of a trilogy ( The Private Gladiator , The Private Gladiator II - In the City of Lust and The Private Gladiator III - Sexual Conquest ) by the director Antonio Adamo from 2002. The trilogy is ending is a pornographic remake of the film Gladiator by Ridley Scott and, unlike many similar films in the genre, is not a parody. It was shot with a comparatively high production effort and had an exceptional budget for porn films.

action

The fictional plot takes place in ancient Rome in 180. The Roman general Maximus was victorious in the fight against the barbarians and is then appointed as his successor by the emperor Marcus Aurelius . This displeases Commodus , the son of Marcus Aurelius and cousin of Domitilla. He has Mark Aurel killed and Maximus betrayed and sold as a slave. Maximus gains fame as a gladiator and so returns to Rome, where, to Commodus' displeasure, he becomes a celebrated hero and Domitilla falls in love with him.

  • The film was shot in Hungary and Italy . The series, which is comparable to mainstream films in terms of production standards, includes computer-generated imagery , wild animals, over 200 extras and lavish costumes and studio sets.
  • The director also made the film Cleopatra (2003), released in two parts, and another trilogy called Roma (2007), which is based on the HBO series Rome .
