The Ray

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ray , mostly short Ray (dt. Jet ) is the title of several from the US publisher DC Comics laid comic series.

action

The series is about a young man named Raymond "Ray" Terrill, who had to spend his entire childhood in the darkened house of his foster parents due to an extreme sensitivity to sunlight . When he left his parents' house for the first time at the age of eighteen to attend the supposed funeral of his biological father, Terrill found that sunlight activated miraculous abilities in him (ability to transform his body into living energy , to absorb energy, to store it and to shape it of light and energy beams in a targeted manner, the ability to fly and the ability to create solid light constructs).

As the series continues, it is described how Terrill uses his gifts to uncover the mystery of his own origins. He is supported by his cousin Hank Terrill and his girlfriend Jennifer Jurden. In order to achieve this, he enters into a pact with the devil ( Neron ), creates a new artificial sun with the help of his powers in order to avert an ecological catastrophe on earth after the actual sun has gone out, and hunts down the immortal Terrorists Vandal Savage. There are also arguments with the dragon Brimstone, the unfulfilled relationship with the florist Dinah Lance and membership in various adventure groups such as the Justice League superhero team , the Justice League Task Force led by the Martian J'onn J'onzz and the esoteric group Forgotten Heroes - who hunt down Vandal Savage - the youthful clique Young Justice, and finally the man-made symbolic embodiment of the United States, Uncle Sam , led Team Freedom Fighters .
