action
The young woman Cecily Cambell is in the tradition of the knightly family from which she comes and is very proud. But the glamor of the family whose sword she is holding has long since faded. So this breaks when you first confront a crazy man on the market square of the medieval city. Exposed to this defenseless man, she receives unexpected help from Luke Ainsworth, a young man whose katana cuts through the madman's sword like butter. He then disappears with his very young companion Lisa. Cecily looks around town and tries to get the family sword fixed; however, every blacksmith in the city advises against it, as it can no longer be repaired.
Cecily doesn't give up and goes to Lisa and Luke's house outside. He is very little interested in the sword and in her and rejects her. When a fight against supernatural creatures breaks out in the forest and the guards are unable to do anything against the monsters, Cecily takes the initiative, although she can do little with a broken sword. Again Luke comes to the rescue and can destroy the monster. The family sword broke and it then crumbled.
Soon Cecily gets a new assignment from her superiors to protect the demon sword Aria. In doing so, she has to make the unusual experience that Aria is both a sword and a woman. At the same time, Aria is a popular target for attacks, as the use of the sword promises a lot of power. So Cecily both has to defend herself against the attacker and to deal with Aria herself, who suffers from deep depression because she believes she is only an instrument for killing other people. Soon, however, Cecily succeeds in submitting her a new role as protector of the people in the city, which also gives Aria some of her joie de vivre back. The attacks themselves are organized by a mysterious man in black clothing, whose capture fails every time, even when they tried to bait Cecily together with Aria. Luke is mostly reluctant to help her because Lisa asks for his help.
Characters
- Cecily Cambell ( セ シ リ ー ・ キ ャ ン ベ ル )
- She is a relatively young soldier from a traditional family. This results in a strong sense of honor for them. Nevertheless, she has a very good heart, which has given her a good reputation within the city. At the beginning she fulfills the role of a soldier inadequately because, on the one hand, she has very little combat experience and, on the other hand, is not able to kill another person. She has a split relationship with Luke, to whom she owes her life several times and whose help she has to rely on again and again. She finds him interesting, but would never admit in his presence that she likes him.
- Luke Ainsworth ( ル ー ク ・ エ イ ン ズ ワ ー ス )
- He is a blacksmith living out of town who is looking for a special sword. He saves Cecily's life several times in the first arguments, but also has a great deal of pride. In the fights he uses katana , which he forges together with his companion Lisa. Although these weapons have a limited shelf life, they have magical abilities that allow him to kill seemingly invincible creatures.
- Lisa ( リ サ )
- She is a fairly young and naive elf who supports Luke in his work. She builds up a friendship with Cecily very quickly and repeatedly embarrasses her in interaction with Luke.
- Aria ( ア リ ア )
- Aria is a so-called demon sword and can take the form of a powerful sword as well as that of a younger woman. It was created during the last great war and gave its bearer great power. In the sword form, it is able to intensify the attacks of its owner with the power of the wind, so that the latter can also hit targets outside the range of the sword. Desirable as a weapon, she fought numerous fights in the course of which she had to watch helplessly again and again as she was used as a weapon to kill numerous adversaries. It also often happened that their owner was killed or turned into a barbarian who tyrannized other people. Asking herself about her destiny, she finds an initial answer when she is finally led by Cecily, who wants to use her to protect other people.
