The Scarecrow is the third album by the German metal - Opera Avantasia , released on January 25 of 2008. The project was initiated by Tobias Sammet , the singer of the power metal band Edguy . He also wrote all the songs and lyrics. This album led to the project's first tour, The Scarecrow World Tour .
construction
As with its predecessors, the individual titles are linked to one another via a common story, but this time the role of a singer is not defined. A passage here was more likely to be associated with a singer through the mood it created. It is told of a person who perceives things differently from everyone else and who feels isolated and misunderstood as a result.

- Hungary: # 10
- Austria: # 16
- Switzerland: # 17
- Finland: # 26

- Belgium: # 50

- Netherlands: # 65
- Italy: # 65
The Scarecrow has received mostly high ratings from music critics. So wrote Andreas Schöwe from the Metal Hammer z. B. "Despite the large number of guest musicians and his style, which is bursting with variety, tempo changes and lush orchestrations, THE SCARECROW leaves an extremely compact, homogeneous and fluid impression. For that alone it can only give the highest grade!"
