action

While the damage is being cleaned up and the rebuilding begins, the cherry blossoms begin to bloom, an event celebrated in Japan and a symbol of hope.

background

The trip to Japan was originally intended to promote Walker's film Countdown to Zero , which addresses the growing threat posed by nuclear weapons . The trip was scheduled for March and Walker, fascinated by the cherry blossom season, decided to make a short film about it in Japan. During the earthquake she was in the final phase of planning. Walker decided to postpone the release of Countdown To Zero in Japan due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster , but still wanted to make the short film. To do this, she put together a small crew consisting of her, the cameraman and a translator .
