action
The orphaned student Mai has a secret love affair with the married professor at her university, Thanit. Eventually she becomes pregnant and, despite impending social ostracism - she does not want to reveal the name of the producer - decides to have the child. The father-to-be is angry because he fears a scandal. A dispute ensues, in the course of which Mai falls and falls motionless to the ground. Thanit anxiously turns to a doctor's assistant and a well-known drug dealer who are supposed to "dispose of" the pregnant woman who was believed to be dead for him in a nearby lake. Unfortunately, Mai regains consciousness, so that the two men kill the student in the presence of the university professor. The act is then staged as a suicide. The water corpse is later recovered and taken by Dr. Rudee, Thanit's mother, was investigated on behalf of the authorities. The medic protects and supports her only remaining relative; she certifies a suicide .
Two years later. The young Porawee works as a bartender and sells all kinds of illegal intoxicants on behalf of her violent dealer . When the beautiful woman cannot give her angry drug buyer the required amount of money again - she needs larger amounts of the substances for self-consumption - the latter freaks out, becomes violent and then throws her into a nearby lake, the place he once also used for the body of the student chose. On the verge of drowning, disturbing visions of a strange drowned woman appear at Porawee; a little later, the drug addict is dragged unconscious as if by magic and rescued.
When Porawee wakes up in the hospital , she learns from the head doctor, Dr. Rudee that she was only slightly injured, but was almost three months pregnant . The sensitive head of the maternity department offers the astonished and horrified pregnant woman her help and invites her to stay in the hospital to combat her drug addiction. There the expectant mother is haunted by terrible apparitions and the ghost of a disfigured woman. The attending doctor thinks that she recognizes strange forms of long-term drug use in the incidents. Whenever she comes into contact with water, the mysterious and terrifying spirit of the young Mai appears to her, who seems to draw her attention to something. Little by little, the intimidated Porawee takes courage, finally conquers her fear and from then on follows the clues that she receives again and again. She finds support in the young social worker Pat, the responsible official at the rehab facility. Together the two explore the origin of the mysterious ghosts. The couple encountered the tragic event in the recent past. She learns from Mais's grandparents that the murdered dead baby was cut out of the body to appease the superstitious villagers. This baby was then to be cremated, but it was stolen by unscrupulous villains, who in turn wanted to sell it as a profitable amulet, a kuman thong ( กุมาร ทอง - for example: golden child , golden prince ). The baby's body has been missing since then.
Por and Pat's investigation puts pressure on the nurse, the dealer, and soon Thanit. Following the indications of her visions, Porawee tracks down not only those involved in the crime, who are all held accountable for their actions, but also the fetus of Mai. Ultimately, the public also found keen interest in their findings, the police resumed the investigation and Thanit came under the focus of the judiciary as a suspect. Driven by daydreams, however, he chooses suicide. The corpse of Maize and the fetus are buried, the evil and the visions seem defeated, when Porawee approaches Dr. Rudee turns. She administers her strong drugs and reveals herself to her as a passionate mother Thanits who wants to avenge the death of her son. But with the help of Pat, the doctor can be stopped. At the end of the film, Por remembers her role as a mother and discovers great love and devotion for her now born baby.
Reviews
The lexicon of the international film wrote that the film was an “effectively staged offshoot of the East Asian ghost haunt, which, however, hardly developed any independence” , endeavoring to use the “ ring myth and corpse of water” and increasingly “ implausible ” phrases. Blickpunkt: The film means to recognize an atmospheric “Thai horror cocktail based on tried and tested recipes” .
