The Zutons are a five-piece rock band from Liverpool , England . The band's music juggles a wide variety of genres. Country , surf , rock , but also funk and soul borrowings can be found in their music.
history
In spring 2004 the band released their debut album Who Killed The Zutons? . The Zutons have been a household name in England since the end of 2002. The first single was called Devil's Deal . The response from the press was rather negative and they mainly compared the band with their label colleagues from The Coral , so that the second single Creepin 'An' A Crawlin 'was also rather moderate. In 2004 The Zutons released the single Pressure Point , which was promptly ennobled by the NME as the "first good singles of 2004". The single Valerie , which the band released in 2006, was covered in 2008 by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse .
The first headlining tour through England followed in spring 2004 , and three German clubs were also on the program. The Zutons opened for Sportfreunde Stiller in two German cities . Even during the Vertigo Tour of Irish rock group U2 were allowed in both Germany and France as the opening act occur.
The band broke up in 2009 without notice. In September 2016 they reunited for a one-off concert. The Zutons will tour the UK in March and April 2019.
