Thea Grosvold (born January 31, 1990 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian ski racer .

biography

Grosvold won the slalom in 2003 and slalom and giant slalom at the Whistler Cup in 2005 and was also successful in slalom and giant slalom at the Trofeo Topolino in 2003 . For the 2005/06 season she was accepted into the squad of the Norwegian Ski Association and competed in her first FIS races at the end of November 2005 . In February 2006 she made her debut in the European Cup , where she started regularly from the 2006/07 season . She achieved her first place in the top 30 on January 6, 2007 with 14th place in the slalom in Melchsee-Frutt , the first and so far only top ten result in this racing series was a sixth place, achieved on December 5, 2010 in the Super -G in Kvitfjell . Shortly before, on October 23, 2010, she had made her World Cup debut at the giant slalom in Sölden , but as the penultimate of the first round, she clearly missed the final qualification.

Between 2006 and 2010 Grosvold contested a total of 19 races at the Junior World Championships . She achieved her best results with eighth ( 2008 ) and eleven ( 2007 ) in the combined ranking . So far, she has won five championship titles at Norwegian championships : in 2007 she was successful in Super G and Super Combined, in 2008 and 2009 in downhill and 2010 in slalom. On December 16, 2010, Grosvold suffered a serious knee injury in the European Cup downhill run in St. Moritz , which meant that she had to take a two-year break and only made her racing comeback in January 2013.
