The franzjosefskai21 theater is a small stage on the eponymous Franz-Josefs-Kai 21 in Vienna's 1st district of Inner City .

history

The Kleinbühne Theater am Schwedenplatz , which opened in 1970, was closed in June 2006 by its founder and director Herbert Lederer . Alexander Waechter took over the restaurant, renovated it from the ground up and has been using it since May 2014 under the name Theater franzjosefskai21 . The new theater was opened with the play The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka .

The small theater has 50 seats with uniform prices, is financed entirely from its own resources and does not receive any subsidies.
