Theo Smeets

Theo Smeets (born March 11, 1964 in Valkenburg , Netherlands ) is a Dutch jewelry designer.

education and profession

Since Smeets worked in 1998 as a professor of jewelery design at the Fachhochschule Trier at the Department of design in the field of gem and jewelery design in Idar-Oberstein . He was vice dean of the design department and head of the department from 2005 to 2011.

He learned gold and silversmiths at the Vakschool Schoonhoven (1982–1986) in Schoonhoven and studied jewelry design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (1986–1992) in Amsterdam with Joke Brakman , Onno Boekhoudt and Ruudt Peters .
