Theodor Allesch-Alescha

Theodor Allesch-Alescha (born April 23, 1898 in Vienna , † 1991 in Lilienfeld ) was an Austrian landscape and architecture painter.

Theodor Alescha studied portrait painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . He then switched to landscape painting and made trips to Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Yugoslavia in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1934 he moved to Zermatt in Switzerland. He made the acquaintance of Romain Rolland . In 1941 he emigrated to the United States, followed by exhibitions in Chicago and New York. In 1947 he returned to Vienna and had a studio in Vienna and Türnitz . This was followed by trips and hikes in Lower Austria, North and South Tyrol, France, Italy and Switzerland. Alescha made attempts to reconstruct lost works. In 1984 a retrospective took place in the Austrian Gallery .
