Theodor Ankarcrona

Theodor Ankarcrona , born Christophers (born February 15, 1687 in Karlskrona , † November 2, 1750 in Stockholm ), was a Swedish admiral and Landshövding over Stockholm County .

At the age of six he was accepted by his uncle Jakob Christophers in Amsterdam and later got a job as an accountant in his business. After the end of his employment with the British fleet, Christophers moved back to Sweden in 1711 and joined the Swedish fleet.

A short time later he became a lieutenant and after the rescue, Charles XII. from Stralsund to Sweden in 1715 appointed commander of the main fleet in Karlskrona. In 1717 Christophers was raised to the nobility and given the name Ankarcrona.
