Theodor Boltz

Theodor Boltz (also: Bolz ; born October 5, 1680 in Königsberg (Prussia) ; † June 30, 1764 ibid) was a German lawyer.

Life

The son of the Königsberg law professor Johann Christoph Boltz was enrolled at the University of Königsberg on September 28, 1693 . In 1701 he advanced to court court advocate and in 1706 received his doctorate in law in Königsberg. In the following year he became an associate professor of law in Königsberg. In 1710 he was appointed court magistrate. In 1724 he became a pupil council and in 1730 an advisor to the city of Königsberg and inspector of the police authorities.

After he was promoted to fourth full professor in 1732 and third full professor in the law faculty in 1733, he was appointed chief judge in 1746. As a member of the Königsberg city council, he was elected mayor in 1750, which office he also assumed in 1753. He had also participated in the organizational tasks of the Königsberg University and was rector of the Alma Mater in 1753, 1757 and 1761 . In the last years of his life he was assigned to Johann Ludwig L'Estocq , who took over his duties at the university after his death.

Boltz was married twice.

His first marriage was on January 21, 1706 with Regina Elisabeth (* December 29, 1686, † September 22, 1707), daughter of the court preacher Friedrich Deutsch .

His second marriage was on February 10, 1710, with Anna Maria, daughter of Councilor David Braun.

The daughter Regina Elisabeth Boltz (born September 5, 1707) is known from her first marriage.
