Johann Christoph Boltz

Johann Christoph Boltz (born December 3, 1652 in Insterburg , † February 25, 1713 in Königsberg ) was a German lawyer.

Life

He was born as the son of the court relative Elias Boltz and his wife Elisabet Fichlau, daughter of a councilor in Insterburg. He began his studies at the University of Königsberg , where he disputed in 1671 under Johannes Mitzel de sequestro and under the same in 1673 de remissione peccatorum . He continued his studies at the University of Jena , where he obtained a licentiate in law in 1675 and then went on a gentlemanly journey.

After his return he was court attorney in Königsberg, 1676 associate professor at the law faculty of the Königsberg University, and he received his doctorate in Jena in 1678 as a doctor of law. In 1681 he became the first full professor at the law faculty and in 1690 tribunal councilor and official of the Samland consistory . He had also participated in the organizational tasks of the Königsberg University. In the summer semesters of 1685, 1689, 1693, 1697 and 1701 he was rector of the Alma Mater and in 1705 and 1709 he was the equivalent prorector.

From his marriage on January 26, 1677 in Königsberg with Elisabeth (* November 10, 1647 - November 10, 1713), daughter of the councilor of the Königsberg old town Johann Bredelo and widow of Bernhard Göbel, children come. We know of these:

  • Christoph Boltz (* around 1683; † January 12, 1757), lawyer, tribunal councilor, married. September 13, 1742 with Helena Dorothea von Negelein from the house of Wesslienen († Jan. 1760), the widow of Hofrath Heinrich Witte on Rinau
