Theodor Brune
Theodor Brune (* 1854 in Münster ; † March 8, 1932 in New Orleans ) was a German-American architect .
Life
Theodor Brune studied in Karlsruhe and Aachen architecture . In Karlsruhe he joined the Corps Franconia and in Aachen the Corps Rhenania . After graduating with the highest honors, Brune emigrated to the USA . He worked as an architect in New York City and St. Louis for a few years before settling in New Orleans.
In addition to the construction of commercial and residential buildings, he stood out in particular through numerous church buildings in Louisiana and Mississippi as well as through the design of mausoleums , which he built in both neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic styles.
