Theodor Detter (painter)
Theodor Detter (born September 1, 1886 in Vienna , † November 1, 1957 in Gmunden ) was an Austrian painter.
Life
His father was the architect Rudolf Detter, his mother was Melanie Detter, née Lemberg. After his school days in Prague , Detter completed the cadet school in Eisenstadt and Mährisch Weißenkirchen. He then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich ; he is considered a student of Franz von Stuck .
Detter was wounded during the First World War. In the period before 1918 his work appeared in the musket . From 1918 he lived in Vienna with his wife Maria. From 1930 onwards, he worked in Germany and the Czech Republic . In 1932 his son Theodor was born. From 1933 he lived in Switzerland , in 1943/44 in Feldkirch . After that he lived with his family in Gmunden . He painted in Liechtenstein until 1954 . In 1955/56 works were created in South Tyrol and the Netherlands .
Theodor Detter is represented with works in the Upper Austrian State Museum , the Albertina ( Vienna ), the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna and the Belvedere .
