Theodor Kelter

Theodor Kelter (born February 5, 1907 in Großhau near Düren , † December 19, 1982 in Cologne ) was a German architect .

Kelter specialized in administrative buildings in the 1950s and 1960s. In Cologne he had a major impact on the post-war appearance of the Cologne Rings , with most of the buildings still serving their original purpose today.

Life

Theodor Kelter studied architecture in Aachen and Munich and worked together with Lutz Tappert from 1934 to 1939 as a freelance architect with offices in Cologne and Düren. At the end of the war he moved entirely to Cologne. From 1938–1968, Willi Heuser was chief architect at the Kelter office until it was taken over by H. Feltes in 1968 and dissolved in 1970.

Kelters estate is in the historical archive of the city of Cologne (holdings 1388).
