Theodor Schwartz (State Councilor)

Adolph Ernst Theodor Schwartz (born August 29, 1810 in Rudolstadt ; † June 5, 1876 ibid) was a German lawyer and administrative and ministerial official and parliamentarian of the Principality of Schwarzburg Rudolstadt .

Life

Theodor Schwartz came from the old Rudolstadt family of lawyers, the Schwartz family , whose members had worked for generations primarily as lawyers at the court of the Princes of Schwarzburg and appointed privy councilors, councilors and chamber presidents, but also worked as theologians from pastors to general superintendents, as well as members of the state parliament, judges and Mediciners.

Theodor Schwartz was the son of the lawyer and princely Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt chamber president Christian Wilhelm Schwartz and Ernestine, born. Sulzner. After attending grammar school in Rudolstadt, he studied law at the universities of Jena and Göttingen . In 1828 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Jena . In 1831 he passed the state examination in Rudolstadt and became committee secretary and accessist at the local chamber chancellery. In 1832, in this function, he became the secretary of the road construction commission. Later he was promoted to chamber secretary in 1833 and to government and feudal secretary in the government chancellery in 1835. In 1836 he was appointed government assessor with a seat and vote in the government, consistory and tax council, and in 1841 he was promoted to government and consistorial council.

In 1850 Schwartz was appointed to the lecturing council in the ministerial department of finances of the ministry in Rudolstadt. In 1858 he was appointed a member of the Finance College. From 1868 he was again lecturer council in the re-established ministry, where he mainly worked in the finance department. From 1873 until his death he was State Councilor and Head of the Department for Church and School Matters, but continued to be a lecturer in the Finance Department.

Schwartz was a member of the Disciplinary Court of the Second Instance, in 1873 its chairman. He was the delegate of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt to the Magdeburg Landfire Society, which represents the state insurance company, as well as the District Director of the Landfeuersocietät for Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. As a part-time director of the Princely Court Orchestra in Rudolstadt.

In 1850 Schwartz was a member of the state house of the Erfurt Union Parliament . He was a member of the Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt principality elected by the state parliament at the suggestion of the Princely Government and belonged to the station party .
