Theodor Wasser

Theodor Waßer (born May 23, 1875 in Kirchheim am Ries ; † July 23, 1952 in Gelsenkirchen ) was a German architect .

Life

After his first professional positions in Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg, Theodor Waßer became head of the design department of the building construction office of the city of Gelsenkirchen in 1907. In 1912 he left the municipal building administration and worked as a freelance architect. He created numerous buildings that shape the cityscape; in the 1920s he was alongside Josef Franke a leading representative of regional brick expressionism .

Theodor Wasser's son Reinhart Waßer (1921–2007) was also an architect.
