Theodor Warnatsch
Theodor Warnatsch (also Warnacz ; born December 3, 1820 in Wittichenau , † 1894 in Breslau ) was a German Catholic priest.
Life
Warnatsch studied theology in Breslau and was there since 1841 a member of the Corps Lusatia Breslau . He graduated with the doctorate to Dr. theol. from.
On December 8, 1843 Theodor Warnatsch was ordained a priest . He became a priest in Neuzelle . In 1849 he took over the parish of St. Mary's Church on the Behnitz in Spandau , which was consecrated on November 21, 1848 , with 1,000 parishioners, including 700 military personnel. He initially lived in the dilapidated rectory at the old church on the rifle plan , as the construction of a rectory at the new church was delayed for financial reasons. The living conditions there were unreasonable. He fell ill and moved into a rented apartment in the city of Spandau. The rectory behind the church on the Behnitz was only completed after he left.
In 1851 he became a pastor in Frankfurt (Oder) , where he looked after 3,000 parishioners. In 1863, Theodor Warnatsch bought the property for the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche as the city pastor in Frankfurt . It is thanks to him that this building, which is still preserved today and is under monument protection, was built. Also in 1863 he consecrated the St. Trinity Church in Lübben . In 1871 Theodor Warnatsch left the parish of Frankfurt (Oder) and became pastor at the St. Nicholas Church in Glogau .
For his services to the Catholic community he was made papal house prelate and in 1883 honorary canon of Wroclaw.
