Theophil Andreas Volckmar (* around 1684 in Stettin ; † 1768 there ) was a German organist and composer . He worked in Stettin, Danzig and Köslin .

He was born as the son of the organist Johann Arnold Volckmar from Szczecin. In 1707 he followed his father into the office of organist at the Peter and Paul Church in Stettin. In 1712 Volckmar moved to Danzig, where he first worked at the Trinity Church , and from 1717 at the Katharinenkirche . In Danzig he was considered a modern and virtuoso organ player. Of course, Volckmar played the Danzig pastors too modern, so that his applications for the position of organist at Danzig's most important church, the Marienkirche , failed.

Volckmar left Danzig in 1730 and moved to the Marienkirche in Köslin . In 1733 he returned to his hometown Stettin to take up the position of organist at the Nikolaikirche . In 1746 Volckmar finally got the office of organist at the largest church in Szczecin, the Jakobikirche , albeit against the protest of the first pastor, whom he was considered a "troublemaker". For health reasons - Volckmar suffered from trembling limbs in old age - he received an organist as an assistant in 1763 and retired in 1767. The following year he died in Szczecin.

As a composer, Volckmar published numerous works. In 2009 his Complete Organ Works were published.
