Therese von der Vring

Therese von der Vring (* 22. October 1894 in Freising , † 4. April 1927 in Oberstdorf , born as Therese Oberlindober ) was a German painter of Expressionism .

Life

Therese Oberlindober moved from Freising to Berlin in 1911 after her father was transferred to another regiment . There she began studying painting at the Royal Art School . At the university she met the young writer Georg von der Vring , whom she married during the First World War. When her husband was taken prisoner in the US , Therese von der Vring moved to live with her in-laws in Brake . After her husband returned, they both settled in Jever and worked there as drawing teachers. Two children were born.

Together with her husband, she founded the Barke artists' association in Jever .

In the mid-1920s, Therese von der Vring became seriously ill with tuberculosis . She succumbed to the consequences of this illness during a spa stay in the Allgäu . Therese von der Vring was buried in the St. George Cemetery in her hometown.
