These Dreams (English for: " These dreams ") is a rock ballad by the American band Heart from their 1986 album of the same name, which was written by Bernie Taupin and Martin Page .

background

Page and Taupin actually composed the song on behalf of Columbia Records for Stevie Nicks , who turned it down. Heart, who had just switched to Capitol Records , recorded the title in 1985. The release as a single took place in January 1986.

The song is about a person who withdraws into a fantasy world because of his difficulties and thereby forgets about reality. Nancy Wilson dedicated the title to her friend Sharon Hess, who died of leukemia .

The ballad was used in series such as Shadow of Passion and The Sopranos as well as in the film 50 First Dates .
