Thiago Santos , full name Thiago dos Santos , (born September 5, 1989 in Curitiba ) is a Brazilian football player . He is used in the position of a central, defensive midfielder , alternatively as a right or left central defender . His strong foot is the right one.

Thiago Santos began his career in the youth division of various lower-class clubs. In 2014 he came to América Mineiro to host the championship round . This Santos joined the first time in Brazil's second highest league of Série B at. He played his first game on April 19, 2014, the first day of the season, an away game at CR Vasco da Gama . In January 2017, Santos' contract extension with Palmeiras became known.

On February 10, 2018, when he played against Mirassol FC in the São Paulo state championship , Santos played his 100th competitive game for Palmeiras .

Under the new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari , who took over Palmeiras in July 2018, Santos was able to keep his place as a regular player. Scolari nicknamed him Cachorrão (German: big dog). When Palmeiras won the tenth national championship in 2018 , Santos was on the pitch 23 times and scored one goal.
