Thijs van Amerongen
Thijs van Amerongen (born July 18, 1986 in Warnsveld ) is a former Dutch cyclist .
In cyclocross van Amerongen was 2004 Dutch cyclocross champion in the junior class. He was able to repeat this title win in 2006 in the U23 class. In the 2007/2008 cyclocross season , he won the U23 race and the overall standings of the series at the Superprestige races in Hamme-Zogge and Diegem . He finished on the podium three times in a row at the Dutch cross-country championships in 2012, with the 2012 silver medal being his greatest success.
On the road , Thijs van Amerongen was third in the national junior time trial championship in 2004. His first contract with an international cycling team was in 2005 with the Dutch team Löwik Meubelen-Van Losser . He was not able to achieve any significant results in this discipline.
At the end of the 2017/2018 cyclocross season, van Amerongen ended his cycling career.
