Thomas Bäumer (born June 16, 1963 in Münster , Westphalia) is a German manager and former association official in the Federal Employers' Association of Personnel Service Providers . He is CEO of Colosseum Dental Deutschland GmbH.

Life

Thomas Bäumer completed school in his hometown of Münster from 1969 to 1979 . He then completed an apprenticeship as a plumber and worked for several years in the training company; afterwards he worked as an independent sales representative. In 1988 he joined a temporary employment agency in Münster , where he was promoted to managing partner. The company was acquired in 1998 by the investment company AHL Service Inc from Atlanta (USA) and traded under the name Tuja Zeitarbeit from 2001 . Due to the deregulation of the German labor market initiated by the so-called Hartz reforms , Bäumer and the company founders saw a high potential for growth and again invested significantly in the company in 2004.

From 2014 to December 2016, Bäumer was CEO of Adecco Operations Germany, which forms the umbrella organization of the Tuja Group and Adecco Personaldienstleistungen Germany and Austria and their subsidiaries. In January 2017, Bäumer switched to the Adecco / Tuja Advisory Board as Chairman. He is on other supervisory boards of various companies. January 2018 Thomas Bäumer became CEO of Colosseum Dental Deutschland GmbH. Colosseum Dental Deutschland is a 100% subsidiary of Colosseum AG (Zurich), which in turn belongs to Jacobs Holding AG, and is building a practice group for dentistry in Germany .

Association work

In 1998, Thomas Bäumer was a founding member and founding board member of the Association of German Temporary Employment Companies (IGZ). In 2002 he left the association and moved with his company to the Bundesverband Zeitarbeit (BZA). From 2003 to 2010 Thomas Bäumer was Vice President of the BZA, from 2011 to the end of September 2018 Vice President of the successor organization, the Federal Employers' Association of Personnel Service Providers (BAP). As a member of the BZA collective bargaining commission and its later negotiator, Bäumer played a key role in the creation of the temporary work collective agreement between the BZA and the German Trade Union Federation (DGB). He was the employer’s negotiator in the collective bargaining talks between the BZA and BAP and the DGB. In addition, at the beginning of 2012, Thomas Bäumer was appointed Chairman of the Temporary Employment Negotiation Association (VGZ), which was founded at the same time. With this construct, the temporary employment industry associations BAP and the Association of German Temporary Employment Companies (IGZ) spoke for the first time with a single voice on collective bargaining issues. On May 22, 2012, Bäumer negotiated a first equal-pay collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry for VGZ, which contributed to the convergence of the wage level of temporary workers and permanent staff. In September 2018, Bäumer left the industry association activity after more than 20 years. In November 2013 Thomas Bäumer became a member of the executive committee of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA).

Engagement in sport and society

According to Thomas Bäumer, he has been a fan of the SC Preußen Münster soccer club since childhood. In 1989 he began to sponsor the association through his employer as well as privately.
