Thomas Beck (born February 21, 1981 in Schaan ) is a Liechtenstein soccer player and coach .
Club career
Beck began his football career at FC Schaan , where he went through all stages from youth to combat team. The striker was soon discovered by the only Liechtenstein professional football club, FC Vaduz , and received a contract there in 1999. In addition, he was appointed to the Liechtenstein national football team at that time . After a year, however, he already moved to Grasshopper Club Zurich in the highest Swiss league. After two more years with FC Vaduz, he finally moved in 2003 to FC Chiasso in the 1st Swiss league (third level). Since he was no longer regularly used there, he ended his professional career and reamateurized. From there he worked in his learned profession as a banker and played for half a year in the Swiss amateur league.
In 2006 he received an offer from Blau Weiß Feldkirch from the Austrian Regionalliga West where he was able to establish himself as a regular player. During the two years there he scored 44 goals in 55 games for Vorarlberg. In the summer of 2008 he moved to league rivals FC Hard , where he was also a regular.
From 2010 to 2013 he played for FC Balzers , before he went hunting for goals for FC Hard again for a season . This was followed by other positions at FC Rot-Weiß Rankweil and SC Göfis , where he also took the post of assistant coach.
Since 2017 he has been the player-coach at FC Triesenberg in the seventh-class third division of the Eastern Switzerland Football Association.
National team career
From 1998 to 2013 Beck was a national player for the Principality of Liechtenstein. In 92 games he scored 5 goals. Beck celebrated his greatest successes in October 2007 when he came on as a substitute in the game against Iceland 15 minutes before the end and scored 2 goals to make it 3-0, and in October 2004 when he contributed an assist and one goal to make it 2-2 against Portugal .
