Thomas Bille

Thomas Bille (born May 18, 1961 in Münster ) is a German journalist and presenter .

Life

Thomas Bille attended the Catholic primary school "Don Bosco" and then the Paulinum grammar school in Münster. From 1983 to 1986, Bille completed vocational training as a metal former and foundryman specializing in art casting at the Schwab art foundry in Münster-Sprakel. He then studied journalism at the University of Dortmund until 1991 . During this time he completed a traineeship at Hessischer Rundfunk and internships at Werler Anzeiger , the cable pilot project in Dortmund and at the Kieler Rundschau . From 1986 to 1992 Bille worked as a freelancer at the Börsenblatt for the German book trade (Frankfurt am Main / Leipzig).

Since May 1, 1992, Bille has been working as a freelancer for the radio station MDR Kultur and its predecessor, MDR Figaro. There he moderates the radio programs Figaro - Das Journal am Morgen - now MDR Culture in the morning , Figaro - Das Journal in the afternoon - now MDR Culture in the afternoon and MDR-Figaro-Café - now MDR KULTUR-Café . Since 1999 he can also be seen on MDR television . There he moderates the culture magazine artour in alternation with Evelyn Fischer . Since 2012 he has been the moderator of the "Leipzig Conversations", a series of events organized by the Volkshochschule Leipzig and Sparkasse Leipzig. In the 2013/2014 season he was the moderator of the series of talks Bille in Conversation at the German National Theater in Weimar .

Thomas Bille has two sons and a daughter.
