Thomas Dennerby

Thomas Dennerby (born August 13, 1959 in Enskede ) is a former Swedish football player who now works as a coach.

Career

In 1977 Dennerby made his debut for Hammarby IF . He played for the club until 1985 before ending his career with Spårvägens FF for two years . Dennerby was a youth international and played seven games for the Swedish U21 team.

After the end of his active career Dennerby moved to the coaching bench. In addition to Värtans IK, he looked after his former clubs Spårvägens FF and Hammarby IF, where he coached both the men's and women's teams. In 2003 he took over Djurgårdens IF / Älvsjö AB . With the club he was twice Swedish champion and won the trophy once. From January 2005 he was initially assistant coach of the Swedish women's national team , in July of the summer he was promoted to head coach as the successor to Marika Domanski Lyfors . On August 22, 2012 Dennerby announced that he would end his work as national coach of the women's national team on September 15, 2012.

In the summer of 2013 Dennerby took over as the successor to Gregg Berhalter as coach at his former club, Hammarby IF, which was second class at the time. At the end of the 2013 season , he led the team to fifth place in the table. Then he left the association again to devote himself to his full-time work at the municipality of Tyresö .

Since February 2018 he has been the coach of the Nigerian national soccer team .
