Thomas Dittrich (badminton)
Thomas Dittrich (born September 14, 1964 in Elsterwerda ) is a German badminton player .
Career
Thomas Dittrich learned to play with the badminton racket in Tröbitz , a community next to where he lives , Domsdorf . In his youth, he won a silver and a bronze medal in men's doubles at the GDR junior championships in 1977 and 1980. In 1982 he managed to gain a foothold in the Tröbitzer Oberliga team. With the team he won the bronze medal at the GDR championships in the following three years. Until 1992 he was still active in sports in Tröbitz before he moved to Bavaria for professional reasons . In 1997 he made people sit up and take notice again when he finished third at the first German Beachminton Championships . In 2005 he duped the entire badminton competition at the German O40 championships. In these title fights he won both the single and the double title.
Thomas Dittrich lives in Deuringen today .
