Thomas Ellrott

Thomas Ellrott (born April 4, 1966 in Braunschweig ) is a German nutritional psychologist and non-fiction author.

Ellrott studied human medicine and received his doctorate in this subject from the University of Göttingen in 1995 . He then had a position as a research assistant until he became deputy head of the nutritional psychology research center at the Göttingen University Hospital in 2002 . In 2007 he completed his habilitation in nutritional psychology and in the same year took over the management of the Institute for Nutritional Psychology at the University of Göttingen as the successor to Volker Pudel .

His work focuses on the prevention and therapy of obesity ; Weight stabilization strategies; Research into eating behavior in Germany, consumer behavior and nutrition trends.

Ellrott is a member of specialist societies such as DGE , DAG , VFED, DGEM, AEM and a member of the expert committee for the BMBF / BMEL / BMG , the Denkwerk Zukunft , the Nestlé Future Forum and the Expert Advisory Board of the Nutrition & Exercise Platform (PEB).

Interdisciplinary knowledge transfer

Since 2013 Ellrott supported as guest speaker the 2011-2014 by the German Commission for UNESCO excellent, the core student project CookUOS (pronounced [kʊk] [uːoːɛs]) at the University of Osnabrück . [1] Together with the Mainz Soft Matter Food Scientist from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research Thomas Vilgis and the Osnabrück three-star chef Thomas Bühner , he denies the format of a lecture "Scientific Cooking" conceived by Uwe Neumann and Oliver M.
