Thomas H. Althoff

Thomas H. Althoff (* 1953 in Wuppertal ) is a German hotelier.

Career

Thomas Althoff grew up in Wuppertal, where his parents ran a furniture store. After completing a commercial apprenticeship in a brewery, he leased his first hotel in Aachen when he was in his early twenties. Shortly afterwards he took over a larger hotel in the Black Forest.

In 1989 Althoff decided to move into the luxury segment after working for Best Western and operating several hotels. He started with the Schlosshotel Lerbach in Bergisch Gladbach , which opened in 1992. He won Dieter Müller as chef for the restaurant , who developed the restaurant into a three-star restaurant by 1997 . In 1997 the Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg was added. The Althoff Hotels now also include the Seehotel Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern , the Fürstenhof in Celle , the Hotel am Schlossgarten in Stuttgart, the Villa Belrose in St. Tropez and the St. James in London.

Althoff operates a further seven hotels under the name Ameron Hotels.

Thomas Althoff lives in Cologne, is married and has a son born in 1995.
