Larsen, who starts for the Fossum IF , took part in junior races until 2018. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , he won the silver medal in the cross and the gold medal in the sprint. He also achieved fourth place there over 10 km freestyle. The following year, he won the silver medal in the skiathlon and the gold medal in the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow . He also came 17th in the 10 km freestyle and fourth in the sprint. In February 2017 he became Norwegian junior sprint champion in Voss and classic over 20 km in Steinkjer in March 2018 . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Goms in 2018 , he finished 24th in the skiathlon and seventh in the sprint. He ran his first races in the Scandinavian Cup in December 2018 in Östersund , which he finished in 44th place in the sprint and in 15th place over 15 km freestyle. In season 2019/20 he won the sprint in Vuokatti his first victory in the Scandinavian Cup and the World Cup debut in March 2020 Drammen with the 26th place in the sprint his first World Cup points.
