Thomas Karl Neisinger

Thomas Karl Neisinger (* 1955 in Würzburg ) is a German diplomat and has been the German Ambassador to Myanmar since August 2019 . He was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cuba from 2015 to 2019 and previously served as regional representative for Latin America and the Caribbean in the Federal Foreign Office.

Life

After graduating from high school, Neisinger began studying law and philology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , which he continued at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the University of Salamanca , and graduated with the first state examination in law. After completing his legal traineeship in Würzburg, Speyer and Rio de Janeiro , he passed the second state examination in 1986 in Munich and then worked in the foreign trade department of a bank in Munich between 1986 and 1988.

In 1988 Neisinger began the preparatory service for the higher foreign service and after its completion worked in various functions in the legal, economic and European areas at the Foreign Office and at the embassies in Argentina and Poland . After he was permanent representative of the ambassador to Spain between 2008 and 2012 , he acted as ambassador regional representative for Latin America and the Caribbean in the Federal Foreign Office from 2012 to 2015.

In 2015 Neisinger succeeded Peter Rudolf Scholz , who in turn became Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan , Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cuba .

In August 2019 he moved to the German Embassy in Rangoon / Myanmar as ambassador .

Ambassador Neisinger is married and has four children.
