Thomas Lang-von Wins

Thomas Lang-von Wins (previously: Thomas Lang, born June 19, 1963 in Munich ; † September 3, 2012 ) was a German psychologist and holder of the chair for work and organizational psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .

Career

After studying psychology at the universities of Regensburg and Munich , Lang worked from 1992 in the field of organizational and business psychology at Lutz von Rosenstiel's chair in Munich. Lang-von Wins received his doctorate from von Rosenstiel in 1996 with the thesis “Employee, entrepreneur or unemployed?”. His habilitation thesis from 2002, also submitted to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, dealt with the psychology of entrepreneurship.

In 2006, Lang-von Wins took over the chair for work and organizational psychology at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . From 2007 to 2009 he headed the central institute studium plus there .

Thomas Lang-von Wins died in September 2012 after a long illness.

Work areas

Lang-von Wins' interests lay in the field of competence research, competence measurement and development and personal potential analysis with a focus on entrepreneurship , but also with regard to employees, whether in position or unemployed. He attached particular importance to the fastest possible applicability of the results in methods of coaching in career counseling and organizational development as well as for practical diagnostic methods. Together with Claas Triebel , he developed the skills balance , an advisory skills assessment procedure.

Lang-von Wins authored several books and numerous articles in magazines and books.
