Thomas Martens

Thomas Martens (born February 20, 1958 ) is a trained insurance salesman and founder of the Hamburg- based Securvita Holding group of companies.

Martens received his training as an insurance salesman at Iduna insurance and became an insurance employee for health insurance in the field.

In 1984 he founded the Securvita group of companies, initially as a consultancy for private health insurances, and was committed to alternatives in insurance and health care, among others. a. with the aim of helping certain naturopathic methods (including anthroposophic medicine and homeopathy ) to be recognized.

In 1996 Martens founded Securvita BKK .

At the beginning of 2011 Martens was suspected of serious breach of trust and the supervisory authority of the nationwide health insurance funds, the Federal Insurance Office , asked Securvita BKK to remove the chairman of the board of directors Thomas Martens and the board member Ellis Huber from their offices. The health insurance company took legal action against this order and obtained it before the Hamburg Regional Social Court . The judgment is final. The preliminary investigation against Martens and five other suspects was discontinued in January 2017 by the Hamburg public prosecutor's office due to a lack of suspicion.

Thomas Martens is married. He has three daughters from his first marriage ( Finja Martens , Nike Martens , Emilia Martens) and another daughter from his second marriage.
