Thomas Peterson
Thomas Peterson (born December 24, 1986 ) is a retired American cyclist .
Career
Thomas Peterson started his career in 2006 with the American Continental Team TIAA-CREF . At the California Tour in February, he won the junior class ahead of Taylor Tolleson and Craig Lewis . In the U23 road race of the UCI Road World Championships 2006 in Salzburg , he finished 41st. In February 2008, he finished eleventh overall at the California Tour . At the 2009 event, Peterson won a stage in the two-man sprint ahead of Levi Leipheimer . His best result in the overall standings of an important stage race he achieved as fourth in the Tour of Turkey 2011 , a race hors categorie . After the 2014 season, he ended his career because, according to his own statements, he no longer had sufficient motivation for professional sport.
