Thomas Rieger

Thomas Rieger (born March 6, 1973 in Bielefeld , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German university professor . Since 2007 he has been a lecturer at the private Business and Information Technology School in Iserlohn .

After graduating from high school, training as a merchant in wholesale and foreign trade and doing community service , Thomas Rieger studied business administration and health sciences at Bielefeld University . For his thesis on "health promotion through physical activity" In 2003 he received an Award of AOK . He then wrote his doctorate at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in the field of sports science before working in the marketing of fitness companies between 1999 and 2006 . He then worked for a year as a research assistant in the business and media department at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences , where he is still a lecturer today.

In the 2007/2008 winter semester, Thomas Rieger switched to the BiTS in Iserlohn as a professor of sports management . There he is in charge of organizing the series of events Sport Management Days and is chairman of the GAIA Institute for Environmental Management . His research focuses on organizational development and environmental management in sports, sports marketing and health management .

In parallel to his teaching activities, Thomas Rieger works as a columnist for the industry magazine Fitness Tribune . He is a member of the German Association for Sport Science , the European Association for Sport Management and the Network Public Health Graduates Germany .
