Thonstetten is a church village in the Freising district . The place is part of the city of Moosburg an der Isar and is about three kilometers southwest of the city center of Moosburg.
geography
The town center is located between the State Road 2350 (formerly B 11 ) and the Munich – Regensburg railway line . The Amper runs north of the railway line .
history
The place was first mentioned as Tanstettin (Tannen / Waldstätte) in the year 830. With the Bavarian municipal edict of 1818, the political municipality Thonstetten with the associated places Grünseiboldsdorf , Oberreit and Moosham was established. On April 1, 1971, the municipality was incorporated into the city of Moosburg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
Attractions
The St. Valentin branch church is in the center of the village . The chancel and the tower of the Romanesque church were adapted to the Gothic style in the 15th century. The important pilgrimage existed until the 19th century. The dead from the prisoner-of-war camp Stalag VII A were buried in the Oberreit cemetery in Oberreit between 1939 and 1945 .
