Thomas Rosemann

Thomas Johannes Rosemann (born July 1, 1969 in Bad Aibling ) is a German doctor and university lecturer.

Life

Thomas Rosemann first studied dentistry , then human medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and passed the state examination in medicine there in 1996 . In 2001 the doctorate took place . The residency in surgery at the Rosenheim Clinic was followed by internship positions in internal medicine. In 2003 he moved to the Heidelberg University Hospital , Department of General Medicine and Health Services Research. There he completed his habilitation in 2007 with research on the topic of chronic joint diseases and was appointed senior physician in charge. He completed a PhD at the University of Nijmegen (Holland) , which he successfully completed in 2008.

On March 1, 2008, Rosemann became associate professor for family medicine at the University of Zurich and director of the institute for family medicine at the University Hospital Zurich . The chair for family medicine at the University of Zurich was the first full chair for this specialty in Switzerland. On August 1, 2014, Rosemann was promoted to full professor for family medicine.

The focus of his research is in the field of health services research. In 2017, on his initiative, the National Research Program (NRP) 74 was set up in Switzerland, in which 20 million Swiss francs were made available for this research area. He published over 500 scientific publications.
