Thomas Ruhl
Frank Thomas Ruhl (* 1956 in Bochum ) is a German author , photographer and publisher .
Career
Ruhl studied graphics and photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts . After completing his studies, he was art and later creative director at various advertising companies. In 1987 he set up his own agency, to which a photo studio was added three years later.
He is co-founder and publisher of the food magazine Port Culinaire , which was first published in 2006 and is managed by Ruhl Studios with the associated publisher Edition Port Culinaire . His book Die See - Das Culinarium der Meeresfische won a World Cookbook Award in 2005 . As a publisher and photographer he worked z. B. with Christian Bau and Jean-Claude Bourgueil . He is one of the co-organizers of the chef-thing cooking symposium . For the list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants , he was chairman of the department of experts who review German restaurants from 2009 to 2014.
He is married and lives in Odenthal .
