Thomas Schenderlein

Thomas Schenderlein (born March 13, 1963 in Gera ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

1983 Schenderlein had his first appointment to the national team of the GDR . He started at the Tour of Poland , which he finished 38th. Before that, he had finished second in the traditional Berlin – Angermünde – Berlin race , which he succeeded again a year later. In 1985 he won the Alpe-Adria tour in Yugoslavia twice (17th place overall) and was classified 36th in his first tour of the GDR . A stage win in the Tour of Thuringia was his best result in 1985, but in 1986 he was able to win several stages in the Tour of Tunisia , the Hungarian Mescek Cup and the Tour of the Oder . He finished the Tour of Tunisia in third place in the overall classification. In 1987 he recorded ten victories, including stage successes in the Tour of Morocco (12th place), the Tour of Poland and the Mescek Cup . The traditional Berlin – Cottbus – Berlin race saw him as the winner in 1988. He also won the Landeskrone in Dresden and the Dynamo Cup in Berlin, as well as other races. In 1994 he became the winner of the Rund um die Hainleite race . He started for the SG Wismut Gera , later the SSV Gera.
