Thomas Schwarz (musician)

Thomas Schwarz (born June 2, 1960 in Königstein im Taunus ) is a German organist and church musician .

Career

Thomas Schwarz studied church music in Frankfurt am Main , a. a. with Hans Kunz and Hans Martin Balz, organ. After studying musicology in Frankfurt and Mainz , he took up the position of dean church musician in Wiesbaden-Bierstadt in 1988 . He works there with three permanent choirs and two recorder ensembles. Thomas Schwarz arranged performances of masses and oratorios by Johann Sebastian Bach , Georg Friedrich Händel , Josef Haydn , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Gabriel Fauré , organ concerts, chamber music and performances of music "on the edge of the repertoire" ( John Cage , Erik Satie , Kurt Schwitters ). He is the editor of choir and recorder music for Breitkopf & Härtel , Verlag Dohr and Heinrichshofen's Verlag.
