Thomas Sinsel (born May 18, 1954 in Mainz ) is a former player in the German national handball team .

Career

Sinsel began playing handball at the Mainz gymnastics club from 1817 at the age of eight . In 1973 he moved to the Lower Franconian TV Großwallstadt and became German field handball champion there in early summer. In the same year he graduated from the Episcopal Willigis High School in Mainz.

Many more titles followed with companions like Kurt Klühspies and Manfred Hofmann , including the four-time German championship in the Bundesliga . In 1983, Sinsel ended his active career at TV Großwallstadt after a tear in the outer ligament in his ankle.

In the 1990/91 season he returned as a trainer to TV Großwallstadt and was their sporting director until 1997.

Thomas Sinsel is a trained sports and biology teacher and began working at DOSB (formerly DSB ) in 1987 , where he is now the deputy director of competitive sports . He has been married to Sigrid Sinsel since 1982 and has two children.

Furthermore, Thomas Sinsel was elected Team of the Year in 1979 with TV Großwallstadt and received the Silver Laurel Leaf in 1980 .
