Thomas Walde (* 1963 ) is a German television journalist . He is the director of the ZDF studio in Paris.

Life

Walde studied political science , sociology and history in Kiel and Hamburg from 1982 to 1987 and graduated with a diploma in political science. At times he wrote as a freelance journalist for the Kieler Rundschau and sat in on the Norddeutscher Rundfunk and Westdeutscher Rundfunk . From 1988 to 1990 he worked for the NDR as a reporter for the Schleswig-Holstein magazine , the Tagesschau , the Tagesthemen , Panorama and various other articles and in 1990 he became an editor at Radio Bremen for Buten un Binnen, the Tagesschau and the Tagesthemen . He then worked at VOX . From 1992 to 1994 he was an editor at VOX in Cologne for the political magazine Zeit and had current reporter assignments worldwide.

He has been working for ZDF since 1994 . He was editor at Frontal until 1997 and then until 1999 deputy editor for "mit mir nicht!", Until 2001 editor-in-chief of the international journal and from 2001 to 2002 Walde was chief of the service at the television program Frontal21 . From 2002 to 2007 he worked as a foreign correspondent for ZDF in Washington and then to London until 2010 . From April 2010 to February 2019, Walde was deputy head of the ZDF capital studio in Berlin . Since March 1, 2019 he has been head of the ZDF studio in Paris .
